Welcome to the Guilford Undergraduate Symposium!

The Guilford Undergraduate Symposium (GUS) is an exciting opportunity for all Guilford students across all disciplines to showcase and present their projects and research. GUS is held throughout the Hege Academic Commons and is open to all members of the community.

Participation

Over the last 15 years, more than 1,500 Guilford students have made more than 1,000 presentations. All academic disciplines have been represented while students have made their presentations in a number of different and engaging ways. These include, but are not limited to, video, sculpture, readings, music, dance, talks, posters, art exhibitions, costumes, demonstrations, and some that have sinmply been unclassifiable.

For many participants and mentors, GUS is the highlight of the academic year. We look forward to continuing that tradition now and into the future.

Presenting

Students from all majors are invited to present. To find out how, start at the Presenters page and the Timeline page. Both will give you all kinds of useful information and resources.

Mentoring

If you are interested in mentoring an emerging scholar, please start with the Mentors page. We encourage all faculty and staff to participate in GUS as much as their schedule will allow. Your support for all students - not just your mentees - is crucial. It will help our students get comfortable with ethical research practices and public speaking.
