What to expect

Audience

This event is open to the public. Although Guilford faculty, staff, and students will make up a large percentage of the audience, you can also expect to see family and friends in attendance to support the presenters. If a campus visitor has questions, please direct them to the Hege Academic Commons where staff will be able to help them.

As this is a professional setting, please treat it as such. Watch each presentation attentively, take notes if you want, and save all questions until the entire panel has presented. All of our presenters will appreciate and return the professional courtesy.

Accommodations

Each year we aim to make GUS as accessible as possible. If you or a guest need an accommodation, please fill out this form [link coming soon]. All spaces where sessions will be held are ADA compliant. If you have any further concerns, questions, or requests after filling out the form, please contact us directly at gus@guilford.edu.

Dress code

Presenters are encouraged to dress in business casual attire (similar to how you would dress for a job interview). With that said, be sure to dress comfortably. GUS is a day-long event so you will want to wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable standing and walking in for long periods of time.

Audience members encouraged to dress for both comfort and professionalism.

Presenter registration

All presenters are required to register before their session begins. Registration will take place before the Symposium begins at a table located near the main doors of Hege Academic Commons. Both presenters and session chairs/moderators will receive name badges. Badges should be worn at all times.
